Day of Mourning


April 28 is a Day of Mourning  for workers who are killed or injured on the job each year, or who die from work-related diseases. This day provides an opportunity for the labour movement to remember these workers in  public events. Mourn for the dead and fight for the living!

As reported by the Workers Compensation Board last year in B.C.:

  •  184 workers die
  •  6 were young workers ages 15-24
  •  more than 100 died due to occupational disease.
