Community Action – Helping Others

Unifor Local 333BC believes that our union is about more than negotiating and administering collective agreements with employers. We contribute to the wellbeing of the Greater Victoria communities where our members work and live.  Part of that effort is to join with community organizations that are doing good works for people in need.  Unifor Local 333BC and our members support several important charitable and non-profit groups, including:

The United Way of Greater Victoria

United Way is a collective of individuals and organizations working to change lives and build community. Together with our agents of change – community partners, volunteers, donors, business, labour and government – United Way is improving the social conditions and the well-being of individuals, families and neighbourhoods.

The Mustard Seed

The Mustard Seed helps meet the basic needs of shelter, food, clothing and acceptance for men and women experiencing poverty, and works with them to find sustainable housing and employment.

The Soup Kitchen

The Soup Kitchen is operated by the 9-10 Club Serving Soup to the Hungry; a registered non-profit , non-denominational society. We serve breakfast Monday to Friday: no one is turned away and no one leaves hungry.

The Rainbow Kitchen

Rainbow Kitchen is a non-profit society providing a place for people from all walks of life and circumstances to come and share a meal together.

Anawim House

Anawim helps those who want to be helped. We are a clean house (free from drugs and alcohol) that provides for those basic needs to which every individual is entitled. What we provide, above all, is a safe home people can come to and feel like they are a part of something. We do our best to provide a feeling of family.
